The Group is operating a normal schedule - The OPEN sessions - at The Hub - are on Tuesday and Friday between 2pm - 4pm and - at the Garden - on Tuesday 12 - 1pm.
Contact us with any query and you should get a response in a couple of days - or visit us at The Hub

The Festival of Christmas trees open for the tenth year at Chesterfield Parish Churchthis week. The Crooked Spire is the largest church in Derbyshire
and will be filled with Christmas trees. Delight at the trees, decorated by local people. From scout to guide groups, from schools to high street stores,
from accountants to Chesterfield Museum, the community love to get involved with the decorations.
The dates are - Sat 16 November 2024 till Sun 1 December 2024 ... 10.30AM - 4.30PM Monday - Thursday / 10.30AM - 5.00PM Friday - Saturday / 12.00PM - 5.30PM Sunday

The town's Christmas lights will be switched-on this year on Sunday Nov 17th. Our first events this year are already fully booked !.

The Christmas events are really starting to stack-up now ... in fact some adjustment will be needed because at the moment we don't have a single Friday free in December !
You nay remember that for a previous festive season. a brewery organised a FREE MEAL and DRINKS for 24 members of our group. It has been OFFERED AGAIN !
Christmas IS coming - the BIG DAY is just 9 WEEKS AWAT now and a bit of forward planning makes everything go much smoother.
Clearly, the regulars at The Hub will get advance information and priority booking. Many venues are now booking up fast - so pop along this week.

Weather for the weekend - increasingly wet amd windy (especially on Sunday and overnight) - next week turning increasingly set - don't be surprised t0 see SNOW.

Most Warm Spaces open again in October but ours is open NOW - and HAS BEEN all summer. Every Tuesday and Friday betwen 2pm - 4pm.
Hot drinks / snacks / games (cards / dominoes / monopoly / scrabble etc) or just sit and chat (in the a warm space !) See you soon ....

With the colder weather now here we are looking to top-up our book and DVD library to provide free swaps for our members.
If you have any unwanted surplus that you want to donate please get in touch.

Three more groups - one established nearly 20 years ago - to be based at Holme Hall Unite's Community Hub? Watch this space - as an announcement will be made shortly.
The Chesterfield in Bloom team held their first meeting at The Hub last week.

We had a good day's racing at York racecourse attending the Sky Bet Ebor meeting. As its only 10 minutes from the city centre race-goers could enjoy the new multimillion
pound concourse while others had a host of attractions - river cruises / Roman walls / the Minster / Jorvik centre and no less than 4 museums (including the National Railway
museum
in the city centre (oh … and there were also some shops too!).

Our Race Days are very popular - There is another Day at the Races coming up soon - and again its close to a town centre so those who prefer a city visit to the horse racing
are also catered for (and some people enjoy both - a morning in the city (with a good lunch) followed by an afternoon at the racecourse).

We hope you enjoyed THE BIG WEEKEND !- feedback has been fantastic. We normally avoid things at the Bank Holiday weekend itself - to avoid the crowds and all the queues.

One of our recent posts on Next Door has been certified (by Next Door HQ) as having over 10,500 views (now 16,200) and over 365 responses (now over 500) within 48 hours !!

some new signage will be going up (mainly around the shops area) shortly - to make it easier for people (mainly visitors) to locate the key venues eg The Hub around the area.

Amongst the Bring A Bag items given away at The Hub recently to our members were FREE Regatta brand waterproof jackets plus various household items
- including cleaning products / washing up liquid / toilet cleaner / liquid soap etc plus our FREE regular food deliveries for distribution

Our LUNCHTIME CHATS at our Community garden is a regular meeting - and will only grow week on week as the Summer unfolds. Being in green spaces
is good for mind, body & soul. See you again next Tuesday @ 12. Enjoy the sound of the birds ... Bring your lunch ... read a book ... chat to passersby ... meet new friends etc
